Privacy policy

What we collect on digitload.ca, why we collect it and the choices you have. Our products have their own privacy policies on their own sites.

Who we are

Digitload (“Digitload”, “we”) is a software studio at 330 Bay Street, Toronto,ON M5H 2S8, Canada. This policy covers this website, digitload.ca. It does not cover MailInApp, FitConsent or Watch-IP, which each have their own privacy policy.

What we collect

When you contact us

The contact form asks for your name, email address, the type of enquiry and your message. Company name and budget range are optional. We also record your consent and the page you sent the form from. We use this information only to reply to you and to follow up on your enquiry. Sending the form does not subscribe you to any newsletter or marketing email.

To stop spam, the form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser, and our form service counts submissions per IP address for a few days to limit abuse.

When you subscribe to our newsletter

The newsletter form asks for your email address and records your consent, the date and the page you signed up from. We first send you an email to confirm the address, and we only send product updates once you confirm. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. We keep your address until you unsubscribe. The newsletter list is separate from contact enquiries.

When you browse the site

Our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site. These tools do not run until you allow them in our cookie banner, and they respect your choice through Google Consent Mode.

Cookies and consent

We manage cookies with FitConsent, our own consent management platform. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you accept them. We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings in the consent banner.

Why we use your information

  • To answer your enquiry and discuss a possible project, with your consent.
  • To measure and improve the site, only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run the site, under contracts that protect it:

  • Google Cloud / Firebase: website hosting.
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: site analytics, only with your consent.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: spam protection on the contact form.
  • MailInApp (our own product): receiving and storing contact form submissions, and our replies to you. MailInApp runs on Google Cloud.
  • FitConsent (our own product): recording your cookie choices.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and for no more than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client. Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in Google Analytics.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and other laws where they apply to you (such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, contact us. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to the data protection authority where you live.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, and access to enquiries is limited to the people at Digitload who need it to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on the site.
